The Nigerian fashion industry’s menswear takeover continues as Tokyo James shows in his strong SS17 collection. The eponymous designer debuted the collection at South African Menswear Week in July.

The pieces teeter the lines of masculinity and femininity, one of the top recurring trends in menswear at the moment, without losing their masculine quality. Brightly-hued tailored suits are juxtaposed with dim sheer tops in some looks while accompanied by bold chokers, harnesses and bracelets in others. Also prominent in the collection are pieces with slogans like “No One Cares” and “Tokyo James” which was one of the huge trends seen during the recently concluded fashion month.
