Less than two years after being announced as the creative director of Roberto Cavalli, it’s been announced that Peter Dundas is leaving the fashion house. James Charles Becomes the First Male Face of CoverGirl
Beauty vlogger James Charles has been announced as the first ever male face of CoverGirl. In the year since he started vlogging, the 17-year old has racked up 426,000 Instagram followers and more than 70,000 YouTube subscribers. The brand released this statement on the new feat: “All of our CoverGirls are role models and boundary-breakers, fearlessly expressing themselves, standing up for what they believe and redefining what it means to be beautiful. Zayn x Versus
Zayn Malik is set to collaborate with Donatella Versace’s Versus to create a range of clothing for both men and women. The brand and the British singer have had a close relationship since he wore an armoured suit by them to the 2016 Met Gala. The capsule collection called Zayn x Versus will be presented to buyers and editors in the spring and will be released for purchase at Versus stores and online in May. For more, click here.
Coach x Colette
Coach and Colette are set to collaborate on bringing the French store to the USA via a capsule collection to be sold at Coach’s SoHo concept store on October 25th. The space will mimic the aesthetic of the famous 213 rue Saint-Honoré shop which has blue couches and a contemporary finish. The capsule features ready-to-wear pieces including a varsity jacket, sweaters, pants, a dress and a sweatshirt will range in price from $95 to $200 which mostly feature Coach’s cartoon insignia, Rexy the dinosaur. UK’s Victoria & Albert Museum Announces Retrospective Balenciaga Exhibition
The Victoria & Albert Museum has announced plans for a retrospective exhibition celebrating the design sensibilities of famous Spanish fashion designer, Christobal Balenciaga. Dubbed Balenciaga: Shaping Fashion, the exhibition is the first of its kind in the UK and marks the 100th anniversary of the opening of the designer’s first ever fashion house and 80th of his opening the doors of his famous Paris salon. It will feature around 100 garments and 20 hats crafted by the couturier and his followers – alongside sketches, photographs, film and fabric samples. For more, click here.
Nikolas Talonpoika Named CEO of Christopher Kane
Nikolas Talonpoika has been appointed as the new CEO of Christopher Kane. He succeeds Sarah Cook, who served as CEO since 2014. According to the Kering-owned brand, as CEO, Talonpoika will have the responsibility of accelerating the international expansion of the British brand while “further strengthening its distinctive identity.” Before taking on the role, he was the strategic marketing and media director at Kering. Kendall Jenner to Shoot a Social Media-Discovered Model for the Cover of Love Magazine
Love Magazine has announced its new model search led by Editor-in-Chief Katie Grand and Kendall Jenner. The model will shoot the contest winner for the ultimate prize–the cover of Love Magazine. All interested applicants must fall within the 15-35 age range and need to post a picture on social media using the hashtag #LOVEME17, along with a short bio about themselves. Twenty finalists will be selected from the lot and flown out to Los Angeles in November to be photographed by Jenner and interviewed for the magazine’s February 2017 issue. For more, click here.
