The 9th edition of the Elite Model Look Nigeria Competition came to a close on October 1st with Davidson Obennebo and Omoh Momoh emerging as the two winners. The pair went home with N1m each and will follow in the footsteps of models like Mayowa Nicholas and Victor Ndigwe to represent Nigeria at the international Elite Model Look Competition. Vogue v Fashion Bloggers
Vogue is currently in a battle with fashion bloggers after the magazine’s editors, on a Vogue.com recap of Milan Fashion Week, blasted them. In one biting comment, Sally Singer (Vogue’s Creative Digital Director) said, “It’s a schizophrenic moment, and that just can’t be good. (Note to bloggers who change head-to-toe, paid-to-wear outfits every hour: please stop. Find another business. You are heralding the death of style.” Bloggers like BryanBoy and Susie Bubble have since responded to the snark, accusing the editors of simply hating the fact that they no longer have sole grip on influencing the industry. Kim Kardashian-West Robbed at Gunpoint in Paris
In what can best be described as a fashion week tragedy, Kim Kardashian-West is currently reeling from a robbery attack on her private residence in Paris’ 8th Arrondissement. A spokeswoman for the reality TV star said she was “badly shaken but physically unharmed.” According to a police official, five armed men, who are still at large, stole a jewellery box containing valuables worth €6m as well as a ring worth €4m. They found out where she was staying by threatening the concierge of the residence, and on getting in, tied her up and locked her in the bathroom. Claus-Dietrich Lahrs Named CEO of Bottega Veneta
Bottega Veneta has appointed Claus-Dietrich Lahrs as its new CEO. He was previously the CEO of Hugo Boss, a position from which he stepped down from in February. Prior to that, he worked at brands like Cartier, Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior Couture. He will report directly to Francois Pinault (Kering boss) and succeeds now former CEO Carlo Alberto Beretta who has been promoted to the role of chief client and marketing officer at Kering. Nas Stars in Campaign for Public School x New Era
Nas has been announced as the face of Public School’s collaboration with lifestyle brand New Era. “When you think of New York leaders, especially in the context of a Yankees or Mets hat, there’s no other person that comes to mind before Nas,” said designer Dao-Yi Chow via press release. The campaign images are inspired by a series of Nas photos taken by Chi Modu in 1992, two years before the release of his seminal debut album Illmatic.
