With the Cannes Film Festival coming to a close, our style curators have begun rounding up the top looks from this year’s event. From movie screenings to major galas, the stars did not fail to take every given opportunity to shine.
Here are our top looks from the 2015 Cannes Film Festival.
Who: Selita Ebanks
Wore: Tsemaye Binitie
Why: We love Selita’s look not just because it’s by a Nigerian designer but for the way it complements her figure. The slit shows just enough ‘leg’ to balance out the open back without going overboard. Her accessories add a bit more drama to the look as well.
Who: Charlize Theron
Wore: Dior Haute Couture
Why: When the perfect dress meets the perfect figure, it births a movie star moment as was created with this look.
Who: Lupita Nyong’o
Wore: Gucci Première
Why: Other than the fact that she looked like the happiest girl in Cannes, we love the flow of her dress and the intricate work around her shoulders. The pageant up-do was a bit of a let down, but let’s be honest, her twirling more than made up for it.
Who: Fan BingBing
Why: When you’ve been dubbed the biggest star in Asia, you certainly have a lot to live up to and Fan did not disappoint in this floral Marchesa. The intricacy of it all astounds us.
Who: Chanel Iman.
Wore: Zuhair Murad.
Why: Pure perfection.
Who: Julianne Moore
Wore: Armani Privé
Why: You can tell a woman who loves red carpets by her style choices and Julianna always goes for the unexpected. The Oscar-winner shone in this feathery beaded gown and owned the look completely.
Who: Aishwarya Rai
Wore: Ralph & Russo
Why: It looks like a lot of fabric, but she pulled it off flawlessly.
